Platform for the Program: Microsoft Teams

INTRODUCTION:

Due to COVID 19, most schools and colleges worldwide were closed for a very long period. As a result, academic institutions have moved from classroom to online classes. If, as an educator, you ever wanted to understand how to design your course to make better use of educational technology – whether fully online or in blended contexts, this is the right time. This program will help educators develop a working understanding of successful online teaching strategies to apply in their practice.

OBJECTIVES:

Integrating online technologies into Educator’s teaching can be a challenging prospect, and it can be challenging to know how to approach it effectively for the benefit of both students and yourself. No one knows the Educator’s content and teaching strengths better than them, and the “one size fits all” formula doesn’t always suit everyone. No matter what type of technology one is interested in exploring or the level of experience, this program will help to draw teaching strengths and find the approach that is right for educators. This program will guide educators through their journey of understanding how online technologies can enhance your course design.

CONTENTS:

  1. Importance of online teaching
  2. Open and institutionally supported technologies
  3. Planning online classes
  4. Online activities vs. offline activities
  5. Online assessments: time limit,take-home exams
  6. Evaluation methods
  7. Interactive sessions
  8. Engaging students

Who should attend:

Educators who plan to teach online will find this program useful.
