In today’s time when the attention span of the consumer is degrading at a much faster pace, it becomes very difficult on behalf of the brands to gauge the consumer’s attention. Brands spends huge amount of money as their marketing and advertising budgets and still struggle to get the desired outcome. These observations have pushed brand managers to think beyond. Human brain is complex and hence the human behavior. Once we understand the what, how and why’s of consumer’s action we can further align our goals accordingly. Neuromarketing bridges this exiting gap. When we understand what action has the potential of nudging the consumer, we can accordingly make better strategies. This field has an immense application in the area of marketing and wherever consumer decision making is involved.

Prof Ayushi Sharma is a professor of Marketing at FSM, Delhi. She has 3 years of work experience in Industry and 6 years of research experience. She is a BTech(Chemical Engineering) from Aligarh Muslim University, MBA from Mudra Institute of Communications, Ahmedabad and PhD in marketing from Indian Institute of Foreign Trade, Delhi. She started her career as a process engineer at BALCO, Vedanta Groups and later worked at Ernst & Young as a Marketing consultant. She did several industry projects focusing on Increasing ROI in marketing with organizations like Aircel, JK Cements, Microsoft, Godfrey Philips (India), Samsung and Momspresso. Her research interest lies in the domain of e-commerce, services and promotional strategies in online scenario. She has got scholarship three times in a row from Michigan State University to present her research work at international forums.
