Programme Introduction

Structural equation modeling (SEM), is a powerful statistical tool that combines factor analysis and regression analysis to explain the relationship between variables. Whenever the researcher is interested in testing a particular theory, SEM helps in building and testing statistical models. This type of analysis is desirable because researchers often hypothesize that a given outcome of interest is influenced by more than one variable. There are many statistical techniques for conducting multivariate analysis, and SEM is one of the most appropriate technique for a given study.

Programme Objectives:

The purpose of this FDP is to provide participants hands on experience with tools to gain a better understanding of the available techniques for data analysis. This program also aims to provide hands-on training on SPSS, AMOS. SMART PLS software for analysing the data and interpreting outcomes of various analyses.

  • Introduction to Structural Equation Modelling (SEM)
  • Introduction to the software’s AMOS and SPSS, SMART PLS
  • Testing of Statistical assumptions
  • Exploratory Factor Analysis (EFA), Confirmatory Factor Analysis (CFA), common method bias (CMB) test, ,
  • Measurement Model Assessment, Discussing Fit Indices
  • Reliability and Validity Testing
  • Structural Model Assessment identifying multivariate outlier,
  • Construct Validity: Convergent and Discriminant Validity
  • Measurement Model & Structural Equation Modelling
  • Mediation and Moderation Effects
  • Multi-Group Analysis.

Programme Methodology

Typically, participants will get 75% input in lab session and 25% input through class discussion and demonstration of the tool

She has over 19 years' research and teaching experience. She has conducted Management Development Programs on topics like applications of qualitative techniques in competence mapping, simulation techniques and assignment problems, operations excellence, supply chain management, advanced excel techniques for managers of public and private sector. She has organized workshops on Decision Sciences and its management applications. She has conducted Faculty Development Program on topics like SPSS and Research Methods, Multivariate Data Analysis, Machine Learning and Analytics using R. She has also been involved in case development with Maruti True Value, Blind People Association, Indraprastha Apollo Hospitals which are published in European Case Clearing House (ECCH). She has research and consulting interests in Reliability and Life testing, Business Forecasting, Managerial Decision Making, Quantitative Techniques in Advanced Marketing Research, etc. She teaches courses on Business Statistics, Business Analytics, Multivariate Data Analysis and Advance Business Statistics in Big Data associated with University of California,Riverside.
