Qualitative Research Through Grounded Theory Methodology

Download Brochure

Programme Introduction
Problem inquiry through Qualitative research methods in the area of social sciences is gaining  impetus for the researchers and practioners, in multiple domains. The FDP on qualitative  research methods, has prime focus the qualitative research protocols, Grounded Theory Methodology(GTM). The approach is a very powerful method of research inquiry, unambiguously when the phenomena may not be captured easily empirically. With words as data, it’s interpretative and iterative nature, the methods equip  aresearcher to capture the essence of the objective of study. The FDP will help the participants to learn and understand the procedure for how data has to be collected, how the data has to be analysed through the coding process, followed by interpretive analysis of the data collected

Programme Objectives:
This Faculty Development Program has been designed with an objective to help the participants look at the theoretical aspects of grounded theory methodology in qualitative research. It will enable the participants to gain a hands on experience of qualitative research through grounded theory methodology. In existing, unstated complexities and ambiguities in sector/domain specific problems, this FDP will enable the researchers to experiment the qualitative research tools, that can help them apprehend the core of the phenomena being observed. The FDP also aims to enhance the skills, attitude and aptitude prerequisite to conduct a qualitative inquiry
