Swetketu Patnaik is a distinguished academic leader serving as the Head of School for Economics, Finance and Law, in Faculty of Business and Law, Anglia Ruskin University, United Kingdom. In addition to his pivotal roles within the Faculty of Business and Law’s Faculty Executive Team and the University’s Senate and the Research and Innovation Committee, he chairs the Open Research Working Group and actively contributes to the Faculty’s Business and Law Advisory Boards. With oversight of two renowned Research Centres—the Centre for Inclusive Societies and Economies, and the Centre for Access to Justice and Inclusion—Swetketu drives the development of research agendas and fosters interdisciplinary collaboration within the faculty
Swetketu attained PhD in Corporate Strategy and Policy from University of Liverpool. His research endeavours focus on dynamic evolution and management of institutional and organizational systems. He employs qualitative methods and institutional and organizational / social practice theories to elucidate how structural conditions catalyse institutional and organizational changes. Specifically, his research delves into the structural and relational aspects underlying the formation and management inter-organizational relationships, particularly co-development of new (bio) pharmaceutical products and delivery of public services by emergency service / blue light organizations. He collaborates with national and international scholars and organizations to pursue his research interests.
Swetketu’s scholarly contributions are evidenced by his publications in esteemed academic journals, including Technological Forecasting and Social Change, International Business Review, Academy of Management Perspective, Journal of Business Research, Journal of Knowledge Management, Management Decision, and International Journal of Manpower. Notably, he co-authored the influential monograph ‘Collaboration and Governance in the Emergency Services: Issues, Opportunities and Challenges’, published by Palgrave Macmillan.
Swetketu is actively engaged in the academic community and is a member of prestigious organizations such as the Academy of Management, British Academy of Management, European Group for Organization Studies, and Academy of International Business, which underscore his dedication to advance scholarship and foster robust global academic networks. Additionally, he is a valued member of professional associations including the Chartered Association of Business Schools (CABS), where he contributes to the Small Business Charter’s Research and Thought Leadership task and finish group.
