Dr. Somayajulu Garimella is a seasoned academic and consultant with over 40 years of experience in business education, and industry. He specializes in guiding business schools through AACSB, BGA-AMBA, NBA, NAAC, and SAQS accreditation and implementing Outcome-Based Education (OBE) strategies. He has mentored numerous institutions to successful accreditation, conducted faculty development workshops on OBE and Assurance of Learning (AOL) across India, and led SAQS Peer Review Teams at several leading business schools.
Dr. Garimella has served as Dean of Executive Education at IMT Ghaziabad, Director at Nirma University, and IMI Bhubaneswar, and held senior roles at SPJIMR and IMI New Delhi. He has also been a visiting professor at IIM Kozhikode, Amritsar, & Sambalpur, FMS Delhi, and the University of Hyderabad. His consulting and executive education work spans government agencies, public sector undertakings, and leading corporations including Indian Oil, HAL, BHEL, ITC Hotels, MIDHANI, SBI, Hero MotoCorp, Centre for Good Governance (AP), DFID, BSNL, EIL, HDFC, among others.
Earlier, he worked over 15 years in pollution control in the coal gasification and petrochemical sectors. He has mentored startups, worked with the Foundation for MSME Clusters and the National Entrepreneurship Network (NEN), and trained in entrepreneurship education at Harvard Business School, ISB, and Oklahoma State University.
