Programme Introduction

In the era of business decision-making, the necessity of data analysis or statistical analysis is essential. It has been found that there is gap in collecting data and understanding of using information and its application Proficiency in appropriate data analysis methods undoubtedly offers an advantage. Educators and researchers recognize data analysis or statistical analysis as fundamental components of their teaching and research materials. Fortunately, now-a-days software packages are available that allow one to analyze data in more efficient and user friendly way This Faculty Development Program (FDP) aims to enhance participants' analytical skills through SPSS (Statistical Package for Social Sciences). The workshop will be a hands-on session, where you will be trying out the different possibilities of the program at a computer by yourself.

Programme Objectives:

The purpose of this FDP is to provide participants hands on experience with tools to gain a better understanding of the available techniques for data analysis. This program also aims to provide hands-on training on SPSS software for analyzing the data and interpreting outcomes of various analyses.

Data Analysis or Statistical Analysis is unavoidable in business decision making due to increased competition in every sphere of business. A growing number of formally educated working professionals tend to club their common sense conclusions with scientific reasons and logic. Knowledge of appropriate Data Analysis techniques certainly provides an edge towards finding appropriate answers to the day to day seemingly simple but complex business issues. Faculty members and researchers find Data Analysis or Statistical Analysis as an integral part of their contents for discussion/learning. This FDP is intended to help sharpen their Analytical Skills through SPSS (Statistical Package for Social Sciences). The program is designed to cover all relevant aspects of Statistical Data Analysis starting from the very basics of Data Preparation, Data Cleansing to Inferential Statistical Techniques including the theoretical aspects behind such techniques

M.Phil (Statistics); M.Sc (Statistics, triple Gold medalist); B.Sc (Statistics) - Gujarat University

She has over 19 years' research and teaching experience. She has conducted Management Development Programs on topics like applications of qualitative techniques in competence mapping, simulation techniques and assignment problems, operations excellence, supply chain management, advanced excel techniques for managers of public and private sector. She has organized workshops on Decision Sciences and its management applications. She has conducted Faculty Development Program on topics like SPSS and Research Methods, Multivariate Data Analysis, Machine Learning and Analytics using R. She has also been involved in case development with Maruti True Value, Blind People Association, Indraprastha Apollo Hospitals which are published in European Case Clearing House (ECCH). She has research and consulting interests in Reliability and Life testing, Business Forecasting, Managerial Decision Making, Quantitative Techniques in Advanced Marketing Research, etc. She teaches courses on Business Statistics, Business Analytics, Multivariate Data Analysis and Advance Business Statistics in Big Data associated with University of California,Riverside.
